Enhanced Command Support Vehicles



General Presentation

The contract is in process, vehicles are currently being built to start the delivery by the end of 2007

Part of the New Dimension Programme
The vehicle is based on an Iveco 65C 17 Air Ride Daily Van

The primary purpose of the Vehicle is Enhanced Command Support to the strategic holding area at a New Dimension Incident.

The secondary purpose is to provide Command, Control, Coordination and Communication facilities at, or nearby to, a scene of an operation/incident run by local FRS teams.

Requirements

CLG’s initial requirement is 9 right hand drive Enhanced Command Support (ECS) Vehicles

The Vehicle is designated as a support vehicle and will transit with a crew of up to 4 (including driver and passengers) and will be capable of supporting 4 operating staff internally.

The system will be capable of operation without degradation of performance under extreme environmental conditions.

The ease of the operating set up and close down of the Vehicles and their systems will allow for a quick deployment.

The Vehicle does have three separate compartments: the drivers cabin; the central communication and operating compartment; and stowage for the equipment.

Human Factors

AES have demonstrable experience of building vehicles for use in command/control applications, AES will comply with Health and Safety guidelines issued by both statutory and specialist Fire and Rescue bodies. The 95th percentile female fire fighter will provide the model standard in this application unless otherwise instructed.

AES will include an element for the delivery of a full human factors and training needs analysis conducted by AES consultancy partner Symbiotics.

Communication

AES have demonstrable experience in the integration, installation and commissioning of all forms of communication equipment. AES are TEA 2 licensed for the installation and management of Tetra terminals.

AES are also experienced in the conversion of police cars, vans and support vehicles.

Mobile and landline communication telephone systems are installed. Radio communication including Purchasing Authority provided duel band radio, satellite equipment and the requirements of the FRS FireLink project.

The Vehicle shall also have the capability to transmit and receive messages, transmit and receive fax messages, transmit and receive e-mail messages, communicate with current and predictable police/inter agency communications systems
